When Marijana’s dominant father falls seriously ill, she takes over his role as the head of the family, taking care of her irresponsible mother and mentally disabled older brother. The new power constellation allows her to explore her sexuality and her inner strength and gives her a taste of freedom.


Hana JUŠIĆ obtained a master degree in Film and Television Directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. So far, she has written and directed several short fiction and documentary films, which have been shown at not only student but also some prominent European festivals. [Quit Staring at My Plate] is her debut feature film as a director/screenwriter. The project was developed at the screenwriting workshop Torino Film Lab, the programs Script & Pitch and TFL – FrameWork.
