Synopsis

Misako is a writer of film versions for the visually impaired. She meets Masaya, a photographer losing his eyesight. Together, they learn to see the radiant world invisible to her eyes.

Director

KAWASE Naomi was born in Nara, Japan in 1969. In 1997, she won the Caméra d'Or for [Suzaku] at the Cannes Film Festival and became the youngest winner in history. In 2007, her [The Mourning Forest] was awarded the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes. In recent years, Kawase has developed a closer relationship with commercial cinema as [Still the Water] and [Sweet Bean] were theatrically released in more cinemas than her previous works in Japan and abroad.
